
Jola Village (Jawali Assembly Constituency) is in mourning following the untimely demise of ITBP Constable Ankaj Kumar (35). Constable Kumar, son of Shri Thakur Singh, tragically passed away on Wednesday due to a brain stroke while serving in Almora, Uttarakhand.
Assigned as a driver with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Constable Kumar had only recently returned to duty approximately one month ago after availing leave. The devastating news was conveyed to his family in Jola by ITBP officials on Wednesday evening.
The loss has plunged his family and the entire village into profound grief. Constable Kumar is survived by his parents, wife, and two young sons. His father, Thakur Singh, operates a tailoring shop in Bhali, while his mother, Smt. Kanta Devi, and wife, Smt. Sapna Devi, are homemakers. His sons, Aditya (10) and Suryansh (8), are now without their father.
Family members, including his uncle Kuldeep Singh, described the scene at their home as one of overwhelming sorrow, with inconsolable parents, wife, and children. The family residence has seen a continuous stream of visitors offering condolences.
Constable Kumar’s mortal remains are expected to arrive at his ancestral village, Jola, on Friday morning. He will be accorded full state honors during his last rites, scheduled to take place later that day. The community prepares to bid a final farewell to their brave soldier.
