Full Review :
The dinosaurs are back — but this time, the magic might not be. Jurassic World Rebirth X, the seventh film in the iconic Jurassic franchise, has finally roared into theatres. Directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Rogue One), the film tries to refresh the series with an all-new cast, island, and storyline. But does this bold new beginning actually work? Let’s dive in.
New Story, New Cast — But Familiar Problems
Forget everything you knew from the earlier films. There’s no Dr. Grant, no Owen Grady, and definitely no Isla Nublar. Instead, Rebirth takes us to a hidden Caribbean island called Île Saint Hubert, where a biotech company is trying to recover dinosaur DNA. Things go sideways (of course) when a new hybrid predator — the terrifying Distortus Rex — appears.
The new lead trio includes:
- Scarlett Johansson as a skilled covert-ops agent
- Jonathan Bailey as a passionate palaeontologist
- Mahershala Ali as a mysterious sea captain
They’re thrown into chaos and danger, offering some good moments, but unfortunately, the characters lack depth. The film has some suspenseful scenes, but nothing truly fresh or surprising.
Visuals: A Treat for the Eyes
If there’s one thing almost everyone agrees on, it’s the top-notch VFX. The dinosaurs look real and massive, and the cinematography is gorgeous. From wide shots of the island to intense chase scenes, the film delivers on the technical front. The music, too, blends the old theme with a new energy — though fans felt it wasn’t used to its full potential.
Audience Reactions: Mixed, to Say the Least
Online reactions have been all over the place. While some loved the nostalgia and the sheer thrill of watching dinos on the big screen again, many were left unimpressed by the predictable story and uneven pacing.
A few reactions summed up the experience:
- “The visuals are fantastic, but the story is forgettable.”
- “Feels like the same formula again and again.”
- “It’s not terrible, but it lacks the heart of the originals.”
- “Best thing? Dinosaurs. Worst thing? Everything else.”
Still, some die-hard fans appreciated the attempt to reboot the franchise and found it better than some previous entries like Jurassic Park III.
Final Verdict: Worth Watching… But With Low Expectations
Jurassic World Rebirth X is a decent one-time watch, especially if you’re a dinosaur fan or just looking for a visual spectacle. It doesn’t live up to the magic of Spielberg’s originals, but it tries to offer something new. If you’re heading to the cinema this weekend, go in for the thrills, not the storytelling.
⭐ Rating: 3 out of 5
Fun Fact: This is the first Jurassic film with no returning characters from any previous movie. It’s a complete reboot — but whether that’s good or bad, depends on how much you loved the old cast.
